Sam Silverstein is a Partner at Lax, Neville & Intelisano, LLP. He concentrates his practice in the areas of securities and commercial litigation, arbitration and financial regulatory matters. Prior to joining LNI, Sam was a Partner at Kaufmann Gildin & Robbins LLP where he worked closely for 13 years with David E. Robbins, author of the Securities Arbitration Procedures Manual, the seminal resource in the space. Sam has extensive experience representing individual investors, hedge funds, brokerage firms and registered representatives in arbitration and (FINRA, AAA and JAMS) state and federal court. Sam has recovered tens of millions of dollars to victims of unsuitable recommendations, unauthorized trading, securities fraud, Ponzi schemes, municipal bond fraud, improper margin liquidations, theft of account assets, excessive trading to generate commissions and breach of fiduciary duty in fee-based managed accounts. He has also represented hedge funds in multi-million-dollar actions against their prime brokers in cases involving miscalculations of portfolio margin leading to improper margin liquidations as well as representing registered representatives and financial advisors in actions against their firm and other brokers regarding breach of contract, compensation and Form U-5 expungements.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Sam spent over four years working as a registered financial advisor for two wealth management firms. His securities industry background and experience provided him a unique foundation that helps him represent employees and investors who have been wronged.

Sam is an active member of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association (PIABA) and was named in the New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars®, a recognition given to less than 2.5% of attorneys in the state.
