Founded in late 2007 by the merger of the successful and growing law practices of Brian J. Neville and Barry R. Lax and joined by partners Brent Burns and David S. Rich, LAX & NEVILLE, LLP, is a boutique litigation law firm focused on Broker-Dealer, Securities, Regulatory, and Employment matters, that is dedicated to the representation of employees, employers, brokers, investment bankers, traders, public customers, broker-dealers, investment advisors and hedge funds. The founding Partners of the firm gained their industry experiences at Prudential Securities in the early 1990’s before venturing out on their different career paths.

In the past 15 years, the Partners have built a reputation for themselves as successful advocates representing clients in state and federal court; NASD, NYSE, NFA, JAMS and AAA arbitrations; and regulatory proceedings in virtually every major city in the United States. Because we are a small firm by New York City standards, we can bring first tier representation to our clients on matters that the large litigation firms simply cannot handle in a cost effective manner. In fact, many of our best clients and most successful results have occurred on cases where our clients chose to retain us because it was not economical to retain a large national or New York firm.

While cost effective representation is our business model, our clients’ long term interests are always the focus of our business model. We strive for excellence in everything that we do for them, whether it is litigation, strategy and/or counseling. This enduring dedication to the success of our clients’ businesses sets us apart, and is the primary reason that our clients have been so supportive for so many years.

At LAX & NEVILLE, LLP, at least one partner is always assigned as lead counsel for each matter. All clients can be assured that no case will be used to train a junior associate. That being said, an associate may be assigned to the matter in a supporting role to create a litigation team. Associates are frequently used in this manner as a cost effective way to manage the litigation. The Partner is always primarily responsible for all important decisions on each matter the firm accepts.

Because we are entrepreneurial in nature, we genuinely enjoy assisting those in need of our services and sharing in the success of our clients. We frequently receive referrals from existing clients and consider it the most sincere form of compliment that we can receive as legal professionals.
